Audit Team From Atlanta Branch Office Earns Letter of Appreciation

By DCAA Staff Writer

An audit team from DCAA’s Atlanta Branch Office was recognized for their exemplary performance and communication while providing support to U.S. Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal. The audit was on a $285M follow-on contract proposal for the High Mobility Engineering Excavator. The audit evaluated $171M of proposed subcontract, direct material, and other direct costs. Of that amount, the team questioned $10M, of which $3M was sustained. The audit team was able to satisfy the requester’s need to expedite the audit report issuance and assist in reaching a negotiated settlement, despite several challenges.

To expedite the audit, the team realigned their priorities and focused solely on the audit. Weekly coordination meetings were held via WebEx to ensure all parties were aware of necessary data and audit status. Coordination, communication and long hours were essential to get the audit completed to meet the customer’s due date.

For their efforts, the team received a letter of appreciation and coin from the Executive Director of U.S. Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal. In his letter Mr. Gallagher stated, “your contributions were particularly beneficial and allowed ACC-DTA to meet its aggressive milestone schedule. Please accept my sincere gratitude and thanks for a job well done.”
