Public Service Recognition Week

By DCAA Staff Writer

DCAA employees are proud to serve our nation and are motivated by our mission of supporting the warfighter and protecting the taxpayer.  DCAA’s mission statement highlights our dedication stating “we perform the highest quality audits to achieve fair and reasonable prices that protect taxpayer dollars.” In fiscal year 2021, DCAA’s auditors examined $260 billion in contractor costs, issued 2,712 audit reports and saved the taxpayers $3.7 billion.

Our workforce is about 3,700 auditors and 450 support staff, such as human resources, information technology, and legal advisors, located in approximately 230 locations across the US. Each individual has personal reasons for choosing to work for DCAA but a common theme is the desire to serve our nation through public service.

The work of our employees may not seem glamorous or exciting, and sometimes it’s not, but it is important work that ensures our nation is charged fair and reasonable prices for the equipment and services used by the Department of Defense to keep our nation safe.

We deeply appreciate our workers and all the other federal, state, local, and tribal government employees.

Happy Public Service Recognition Week!
