Fort Belvoir, Va. –
Director Dilly visited the Hampton Roads and Newport News Field Audit Offices and conducted town hall meetings to hear from the staff and discuss her vision for the Agency. During these sessions, she thanked the staff for their hard work, flexibility and professionalism.
During her visit to the Newport News Office, she presented a coin to Ms. Olivia Benton, FAO Assistant for Quality. Ms. Benton plays a significant role in all of the office’s audits ensuring a quality product is delivered. She was also instrumental during an audit of labor utilization during aircraft carrier refitting helping to ensure these vital ships are returned to the fleet in a timely manner.
Ms. Dilly and the offices’ leadership also toured the Newport News shipyard and gained an appreciation for the scope and challenges in constructing a ship as large as an aircraft carrier or as complex as a submarine. Ms. Dilly thanked the shipyard staff for their contributions to the defense of our nation saying “it’s a partnership between DoD and defense contractors to get the warfighters the capabilities they need.”
