Museum Tour highlights Importance of DCAA Mission

By DCAA Staff Writer

DCAA’s Director recently visited the RTX Pratt and Whitney Resident Office and RTX Collins Aerospace Resident Office in Hartford and the GD Electric Boat Office in Groton, Connecticut to hear from the audit staff and meet with the leadership teams. During the visit, Ms. Dilly presented coins to Brian Bonne from the RTX Pratt and Whitney Resident Office, Elizabeth Wurts from the RTX Collins Aerospace Resident Office, and Greg Whitehead from the GD Electric Boat in recognition of their outstanding work.

During her remarks, Ms. Dilly discussed her vision for the Agency as well as the value DCAA brings to the Department of Defense. She then answered questions from the auditors on a wide range of topics including the future of telework, near term improvements in DCAA’s business systems, and training courses. After meeting with the audit staff, Ms. Dilly met with the leadership team.

After the meeting in Groton, the participants had an opportunity to visit the Submarine Force Museum and tour the first nuclear submarine, the USS Nautilus. The visit added a dose of reality to those who perform audits on contracts for submarines. Learning the history of those who served in subs and the contributions they made to our Nation brings to light the importance of DCAA’s work as part of the acquisition community.
