The Defense Contract Audit Agency joins the Defense Department recognizing April as Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. This year’s theme is “Building Connected Communities,” emphasizing the importance of working together to make impactful and meaningful changes.

Supervisory Auditor Kernather Ken Auguste and Senior Auditor Miguel Cardona work for the DCAA Orlando Field Audit Office and spent the past two years working on intensive negotiations after the audit revealed unfair costs for a complex aviation system.

Kathie Sumrow is a Senior Auditor at an Eastern Region DCAA office. Kathie’s journey exemplifies the power of resilience and advocacy in the face of adversity. It also demonstrates the importance of understanding and sharing knowledge of different backgrounds and experiences.

When it comes to advocating for diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA), Ms. Debbra Caw rises as a true champion. With over 24 years of experience at the agency and more than 30 years of extensive leadership experience, she uses her experiences and position to make sure everyone can contribute to collaborating and sharing ideas to shape the future of the agency.

Nicole is a Program Manager in the Policy and Quality Directorate with 15 years of experience at DCAA. Nicole is a firm advocate for empowering people and fostering positive workplace cultures.

At the 2024 Leadership Conference, DCAA Director, Ms. Terri Dilly, dedicated time to recognize the exemplary work from DCAA leaders. These leaders received Director’s Challenge Coins, unique tokens that represent and recognize significant achievements.

Carolyn Moncada is a dedicated member of the DCAA Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) council, Carolyn passionately advocates for DEIA principles in the workplace and beyond.

Mr. Stanley (Stan) Jones is a senior level auditor in a field detachment office who enjoys music, quilting, card-making, and more. Stan’s early exposure to the arts was inspired by his mother, a retired bone-marrow transplant nurse. Continuing his mother’s legacy, Stan actively contributes to his community by volunteering to teach after-school care for high-risk, low-income families in his local community.

The DCAA Leadership Conference is a critical event that offers a three-day immersive learning experience for upper-level leadership within DCAA. This year’s theme, “Learn Today, Lead Tomorrow,” emphasizes the need to continue learning to help ensure effective and successful long-term leadership and growth.

Mr. Dave Bukauskas was inducted as a member of the Senior Executive Services (SES) during a ceremony on Feb. 13, 2024, at DCAA’s 2024 Leadership Conference. Mr. Bukauskas is now the Deputy Regional Director, Central Region.
