Why DCAA Interns Want to Become Full-time Employees

By DCAA Staff Writer

DCAA interns are an integral part of our Agency and contribute valuable mission-driven work every day. If a position is available after the program is complete, interns who successfully fulfill all program requirements have the opportunity to apply for a full-time position. Check out why so many DCAA interns make that transition to full time employment.

Our Mission and Values

Connecting with the Agency’s mission helps our interns see a future with DCAA. I like that the job is challenging, and that we serve the taxpayers. I believe this Agency is the right place for me,” said Wondimeneh Haile. Another intern, Jacob Snyder, commented on how he connects with DCAA’s TEAMIT values, noting “I feel as though my values closely relate to the values of DCAA.”

Our Culture

DCAA’s culture plays an important role in molding our interns’ one-of-a-kind experiences. “All of my coworkers are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and fun to work with, and the experience I have gained so far is very unique. I feel as if the types of work and experience I would get from working at DCAA are unlike anything I could get anywhere else, and that is the kind of thing I am looking for in a career,” said Ronald Vonberge.

Some interns have learned firsthand about the positive culture and work environment from family or friends who also work at the Agency, and know they want to stay. “When I began my internship at DCAA, I had the goal in mind to continue working for DCAA full time after it ended,” Nadia Johnston explained. “I have family that work for DCAA as well, so I've always wanted to follow in their footsteps.”

Our Ethos of Continuous Learning

DCAA equips our interns with key skills and information they need to continue to grow and be successful in their careers.I have had support from my audit team to help me learn what I needed to know and enjoy what I have been doing in my internship,” said Sarah Crownover. DCAA supports our employees in achieving their aspirations and exploring new roles. I enjoy the work that I work on during audits, and I like that there are many opportunities [to learn] new things,” stated Kailyn Bryant.

DCAA is an agency unlike any other. Learn more about the DCAA internship program on our website.
