Health and Life Insurance
Access to a variety of healthcare plans helps DCAA employees take care of themselves and their families. As a DCAA employee you can choose among medical insurance policies and other healthcare insurance options, and take advantage of flexible spending accounts.
Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) Program
Enroll in one of several employee health plans offered by the federal government. Enrollment is voluntary, and your share of the premium is deducted biweekly from your pay.
Federal Dental and Vision Program
Choose among several supplemental dental and vision plans. Your biweekly share of the premium will be deducted pre-tax from your pay, with the amount depending on the plan you select.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
FSA accounts let you set aside money, pre-tax, for common medical or dependent care expenses. Using an FSA can reduce your taxes as you pay for services you would ordinarily pay for anyway. There are two options in the federal FSA Program:
- Health Care Flexible Spending Account (HCFSA) - an account for common medical expenses not covered by your other health plans.
- Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA) - an account to pay eligible dependent care expenses for children or adults.
Federal Employees' Group Life Insurance (FEGLI)
You will be eligible for life insurance coverage under the FEGLI program from the day you start work at DCAA. FEGLI provides a variety of coverage and benefit amounts, starting with the Basic plan contributions shared by you (two-thirds of the total premium) and the government (one-third of the total premium).
Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program (FLTCIP)
FLTCIP provides long term care insurance to help pay for care when enrollees need help with daily activities or have a severe cognitive impairment, such as Alzheimer's disease. Most federal employees, annuitants, and their qualified relatives are eligible to apply for this insurance coverage.
