About the Small Business Program

The Fiscal Year 2013 National Defense Authorization Act (“NDAA”), signed by President Obama on January 2, 2013, makes numerous significant changes in the federal government’s small business contracting programs. As it relates to DCAA, it created a small business Ombudsman.  DCAA appointed a small business focal point and implemented a small business outreach program in 2013.

Role of the Small Business Focal Point

The DCAA small business ombudsman serves as the program manager and audit expert for the small business program with responsibility to provide assistance, consultation and internal control with regard to audit requirements and their application to small business.
