Mentorship Program Helps Employees Grow

By DCAA Staff Writer

DCAA’s mentoring program recently celebrated the completion of its 2022 Cohort. Many of the mentors have been involved with the program for several years. Ms. Trish Lee, a volunteer formal mentor five years running says "the DCAA program is a win-win, mentors gain as much from the mentoring experience as the mentees. It is up to you to take charge of your career, but there are mentors along the way willing to help, all you need to do is ask!" During the ceremony Ms. Lee was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for her support of the program. Also during the ceremony, Ms. Lee presented her mentee for this cohort, Ms. Lisa Long, with her certificate of completion.

The DCAA mentoring program helps employees establish a mentoring relationship by matching mentors and mentees and providing tools for success. The program focuses on developing technical skills, leadership competencies, and soft skills to prepare mentees for career growth and progression. During the formal 10-month program, mentees participated in stretch assignments such as special projects, developmental assignments, and situational mentoring.
