Fort Belvoir, Va. –
The 2022 holiday season is here and Headquarters DCAA personnel participated in the Defense Logistics Agency tree lighting ceremony on December 6th at the McNamara Headquarters complex. The ceremony, hosted by the DLA commander Vice Admiral Subic, featured music, gifts, and a visit from Santa Claus.
One of the main events during the ceremony was an ugly sweater contest, which DCAA employees Mr. William Ferran, Program Manager, and Mr. Steve Kennedy, Comptroller, participated. After some contentious voting by the crowd, Mr. Kennedy won third place for his deer in sunglasses sweater topped off with a blinking holiday light necklace.
Mr. Elliot Avidan, Legal Counsel, was the DCAA representative for the ceremony and in his remarks he highlighted the contributions of the over 4000 DCAA employees in over 230 offices. “Thanks to the dedication of the DCAA and all DoD employees, we can enjoy this holiday season knowing our nation is protected.”
The ceremony ended with the lighting of the tree in the main atrium of the McNamara Complex followed by refreshments for all participants.
