The Field Detachment (FD) and the Northrop Grumman Corporate Audit Directorate (CAD) held a joint Professional Support Staff Workshop in Reston, Va. the first week of August. The three day workshop provided attendees an opportunity to network and share ideas during training. While both FD and the Northrop Grumman CAD have offices in Northern Virginia, they seldom see each other in person. This in-person event was an opportunity to share techniques and brainstorm solutions to common challenges. Presenters from DCAA Headquarters along with those from both the Northrop Grumman CAD and FD discussed how each organization performed specific tasks along with the requirements. Participants then shared ideas on how to perform duties more efficiently and effectively.
DCAA has more than 200 employees who are considered professional support staff. These individuals assist auditors with non-audit tasks such as managing training records, organizing staff conferences, assisting in personnel management, and ensuring audit reports comply with all regulations and are retained properly. The support staff in integral to DCAA's success and their work impacts the entire DCAA workforce.
