DCAA Team of the Year

By Va.

DCAA’s Team of the Year developed the “Leveraging Work from Other Assignments Dashboard” tool. The tool was initially developed and implemented within DCAA’s Central Region, however, due to the benefits of this tool, its use was expanded to the entire Agency.

The tool connects several data sources and identifies prior audit work that can be used in current audits. By using the tool, audit teams become more efficient, and audits are completed faster. The team also developed the implementation plan and created a training video and working paper template to teach the field how to use and document the results of the dashboard tool. After piloting the dashboard in Central Region and making improvements, it was rolled out to the entire region. After seeing the results and briefing DCAA’s senior leadership, the tool was made available to all DCAA auditors. Improvements continued and working with other specialists within DCAA, the scope of the tool was expanded and functionality was improved.

Throughout this project, the DCAA value of Teamwork was clearly evident through the spirit of cooperation, communication and respect by all team members. Imaginative and innovative ideas were encouraged to address the complexity of developing and implementing this dashboard. Each member was willing to go the extra mile to do their part to ensure the tool was the best possible product for the Agency to improve audit efficiency.

Congratulations to team members Brandi Hall, Jason Martin, Greg Fulmer, Brandon Curtis, Rob Gresham, Rizza Brown, Sabrina Dadie, Veronica Anderson, Kelly Magyar, and Kathy Sheeran!
