Fort Belvoir, Va. –
DCAA personnel in Headquarters participated in the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) tree lighting ceremony on December 10 at the McNamara Headquarters complex. The ceremony included representatives from each agency within the McNamara Headquarters: DLA, Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC), Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), and DCAA. Ms. Debbra Caw, Deputy Director, represented DCAA and shared a reminder that while the holidays can be joyous for many, they can be difficult for others and stressed the importance to take care and check in on each other during these months. The tree lighting ceremony included a holiday poem, the Mt. Vernon Varsity Choir, a visit from Santa Claus and the Grinch, an ugly sweater contest, a door decorating contest, and more. DCAA placed second place with their “Winter Wonderland Wedding” decorated door.
The Headquarters annual holiday party took place on the second floor of the McNamara Headquarters building later that week on December 12. The Human Capital Resource Management (HCRM) team hosted this year’s event and organized a chili cook off, ugly sweater contest, and other events for attendees to enjoy. The annual holiday party presents a time and opportunity for DCAA employees in headquarters to network and learn more about the other offices supporting DCAA. Headquarters is comprised of Policy, Operations, General Counsel, the Office of Inspector General, Information Technology, Human Resources, and the Front Office. Ms. Jennifer Desautel, DCAA Director, opened the ceremony thanking the planning team for their dedication and wished everyone a happy and safe holiday.
