DCAA’s sub-office in Greenville, SC received the DoD Comptroller’s Award for Contributions to Financial Management (excluding Budget) in a virtual ceremony on July 22, 2021. Team member Jad DeLoache stated, “I am honored to receive this award. There are many excellent government teams accomplishing valuable work so it means a great deal for our team to be recognized. “
The DCAA team earned the award for their audit of a complex proposal related to the withdrawal of US forces in Afghanistan and resulting base closures. The team worked within a tight timeline to meet the needs of the customer. The result of the audit was savings of $124 million. “Our team worked diligently to fulfill the Agency’s mission of supporting the warfighter and protecting the taxpayer,” said team member Bethany Craig.
This is a well-earned accolade for the team’s continuous dedication and tremendous effort in not just auditing the proposal but also supporting the customer during negotiations commented team member Laura Sanchez-An. “They worked diligently prior to receiving the audit request, during the course of the audit, and throughout negotiations to accommodate the Buying Command. I was elated that we were able to meet the tight deadline and render a comprehensive audit with very favorable savings to the Government and taxpayer,” said Bruce Taylor, Branch Manager. “It’s really impactful to see and experience how the proposal team demonstrated our Agency TEAMIT values as they carried out their assigned and coordinated duties.”
