Auditor Provides Exceptional Support to the Defense Criminal Investigative Service

Former DCAA auditor Andy Hale received a Letter and Certificate of Appreciation for his significant contributions in a Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS) investigation of alleged contracting violations.

The complaint alleged a contractor who was awarded contracts designated for a specific type of small business administration status subcontracted over 50 percent of the work to subcontractors who did not quality for this specific status.  

In his letter, the DCIS Deputy Inspector General for Investigations noted Mr. Hale’s exceptional support in reviewing volumes of invoices and payment records and creating multiple damage models . His “level of assistance, responsiveness, and critical support in this case cannot be understated. His prompt, complete and articulate analysis enabled a resolution acceptable to the Department of Justice and all affected parties.”

The settlement in this case was reached on May 21, 2021 for $300,000 and a non-prosecution agreement.
