Fort Belvoir, Va. –
Alyssa Filtz is an auditor in the Central Region who was recently recognized for her hard work, dedication and willingness to take on new challenges. At a Central Region Town Hall, Regional Director, Ms. Joni Youngberg, presented Alyssa with a Corporate Audit Directorate (CAD) Director’s Challenge coin, sharing appreciation for Alyssa’s strong sense of teamwork and commitment to both DCAA and the DoD’s missions.
Alyssa was praised for her work helping the Air Force complete an inventory of all identified government property in contractor possession. This complex task required her to conduct book-to-floor checks, where she compared an inventory list to the physical inventory, for 77 samples. Additionally, Alyssa completed 77 floor-to-book checks, where she verified the physical inventory against the documented records. Thanks to her meticulous work, the Air Force requested DCAA to continue supporting them with the property records project.
Alyssa’s dedication to public service is driven by her pride in her country. She frequently volunteers for additional tasks to support both her team and other DCAA offices. Recently she drove nearly three hours, one way, to perform requested audit work as requested by the contractor. Reflecting on her public service journey, Alyssa shares her calling to civil service was inspired by her husband, a U.S. Marine; “Military service may not have been for me, but as a DCAA auditor, I serve my nation in my own way. At DCAA I support the Warfighter and ensure we maximize the DoD’s buying capabilities.”
Alyssa’s supervisor commends her consistency in exceeding expectations with her attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities. Valuing continuous growth and improvement, Alyssa looks forward to continuing her service as an auditor and embracing the evolving challenges of federal auditing.
