Fort Belvoir, Va. –
The Ohio River Valley Branch Office (ORVBO) recently completed a multi-million dollar fixed-price subcontract proposal audit related to advanced military supplies and weaponry. The audit focused on ensuring cost efficiency and supported the DoD’s mission to enhance lethality through the contract’s content. The ORVBO audit team identified several million dollars in questions costs, accounting for approximately ten percent of the total proposed expenses. Auditors identified unreasonably high proposed direct material costs and recommended adjustments to indirect rates, leading to significant potential savings for the DoD. The buying command expressed strong appreciation for the audit team’s timely and detailed report, particularly highlighting the ORVBO audit team’s crucial role to ensure fair and reasonable prices for the DoD.
Beyond the audit findings, the ORVBO audit team remains actively engaged in negotiations. The team‘s continued engagement and work underscores their ongoing commitment to help stretch finite resources for the DoD and ensure the warfighter has what they need for success.
