Introducing the Land, Sea and Air Directorates

By DCAA Staff Writer

DCAA officially consolidated the regional organization structure and welcomed the Land, Sea and Air Directorates on July 1. This organization refocuses operations to better align with the needs of the Department of Defense and strengthens the connection between DCAA and the support provided to the Warfighter. Corporate Audit Directorates (CAD), the Field Detachment Offices and Financial Liaison Auditors (FLA) are officially incorporated into the Directorate that best aligns with their customers. The Land, Sea and Air Directorates are aligned with the military’s major buying commands to help reduce locational barriers and costs.

  • The Land Directorate is mission focused on liaison with Army Buying Commands and the major corporations that manufacture land systems. This Directorate is responsible for former Central Region Field Audit Offices (FAO) and the corporations of Lockheed Martin (LM) and RTX.
  • The Sea Directorate is responsible for liaison with Naval Sea Systems Command and the major corporations operating shipyards. Sea Directorate is responsible for the former Eastern Region FAOs and the BAE and General Dynamics corporations.
  • The Air Directorate works closely with Air Force Buying Commands and major corporations that manufacture Aircraft and space systems. The former Western Region FAOs and Northrop Grumman, Boeing and L3 are now part of the Air Directorate.

Field Detachment (FD) FAOs are officially part of the new Directorates and will continue providing audit support for classified activity. The Contract Audit Standards and Assurance Directorate is responsible for contract audit standards; organizational standards; legislative affairs; quality; and central audit functions, specific types of audits. The Operations Directorate, Human Capital and Resource Management, and General Council Directorates currently remain largely unchanged.

The website will stay up to date as official changes are implemented, such as new location maps with office names changes and position title updates.
