DCAA Financial Liaison Advisors (FLAs) help bridge the gap between DCAA auditors and acquisition professionals at buying commands. FLA Alyssa Treiber supports U.S. Navy commands and regularly hosts monthly sessions to strengthen communication and deepen knowledge and understanding of the acquisition and audit process. Recently, Alyssa partnered with Tamesha Brown, a Technical Specialist from DCAA’s Regional Technical Programs Division (RST), to deliver two training sessions focused on bringing clarity to complex audit topics. With more than 250 participants from various Navy commands, the sessions received overwhelmingly positive feedback. “Alyssa and Tamesha answered all my questions and I learned a lot about how we can question the contract and avoid waste, fraud, and abuse,” one attendee shared.
Participants left the training with a clearer understanding of DCAA’s role and how to better prepare for audits. These sessions are one example of how DCAA continues to support partnerships and ensure every component of the DoD has the knowledge they need to maximize every dollar.
