A Virginia-based military contractor will pay $4.02 million to resolve allegations that it improperly billed the United States for extra payments to employees. Mission1st Group Inc. improperly billed for extra payments to employees, known as uplifts, that were not actually paid to its employees. DCAA Auditor David Gotlib was vital to the prosecution's case. Throughout the process David assisted in preparing the Inspector General subpoena, analyzed vouchers, timesheets, payroll records, and employee labor agreements, and provided the Government with loss calculation.

DCAA’s Operations Investigative Support Division (OIS) provides accounting and financial advisory services to investigative agencies and the Department of Justice in civil and/or criminal fraud investigations. DCAA auditors can apply for a 3-year assignment with OIS and, if selected, will primarily support DoD criminal investigative organizations including the Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS), the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI), the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), and the Army Criminal Investigative Command (Army CID).
