Commencement Ceremony honors 30 Graduates of DDPL

By DCAA Staff Writer

The DCAA Director, Ms. Anita Bales, hosted the graduation ceremony for the Director’s Development Program in Leadership (DDPL) earlier this month at Fort Belvoir, VA. DDPL is an 18-month executive level leadership program designed to develop senior level careerists with the leadership knowledge, skills, and abilities for effective leadership at the highest levels of DoD. This year’s graduates are from nine DoD organizations and bring their own organizational and personal views to class discussions and group assignments. During the 18-months of the program, participants travel to 10 different universities and military colleges focusing on a new leadership competency at each. The coursework culminates in two capstone events allowing cohort participants to relate the concepts and theories taught at the educational institutions against the context, scope, and complexity of a major military command’s strategic mission in support of the warfighter. When participants talk about the value of the program they highlight learning as much from each other as they do from the instructors and the relationships they developed. Congratulations to all the graduates.
