Ms. Barbara Richon Joins Ranks of Senior Executive Service

Ms. Barbara Richon was inducted into the Senior Executive Service Corps in a ceremony held on May 26, 2022 hosted by DCAA’s Acting Director Bentz. She is now the Deputy Director Western Region and will relocate to Denver, Colo., the site of the regional headquarters. In his remarks during the ceremony, Acting Director Bentz highlighted Ms. Richon’s accomplishments stating, “Barbara’s accomplishments are far reaching and impact both the government and defense industry.”

Ms. Richon joined DCAA in September 2004 and served as an Auditor in the Springfield, Va. branch office. In 2008, she was selected to serve as a supervisory auditor and in 2010 as branch manager. Ms. Richon was competitively selected in 2014 for the Defense Senior Leader Development Program and the Air War College. Following the war college, Ms. Richon served at the OSD’s Office of Performance Assessment and Root Cause Analysis (PARCA) as a Senior Analyst. From 2016 to 2021, Ms. Richon served as the Chief of the Policy Directorate’s Incurred Cost Division and in 2021 she was selected as the Deputy Director, Northrop Grumman CAD.

During her remarks at the ceremony, Ms. Richon stated, “when I first joined DCAA as an auditor, I had no idea of the opportunities and advancements I would find in the Agency. DCAA has been a great career choice and I am looking forward to continuing in my new role."

Ms. Richon joins DCAA’s executive team leading the 4,600 members of the workforce as they accomplish their mission delivering high quality contract audits and services to ensure that warfighters get what they need at fair and reasonable prices
