Mr. Patrick Hodges was inducted into the Senior Executive Service on February 15, 2023. Mr. Hodges has been serving as DCAA’s General Counsel since January 2023.
During the ceremony, hosted by DCAA’s Director Ms. Dilly, the importance of the SES corps to the federal government was highlighted and the meaning of the SES emblem was explained. Mr. Hodges was presented with the SES certificate, his wife pinned on the SES pin, and the SES flag was unfurled, permanently identifying him as a new SES member. Ms. Dilly also led Mr. Hodges through the recitation of the Oath of Office.
Ms. Dilly highlighted Mr. Hodges extensive career in law, including serving as the Deputy Counsel for DCAA in the Employment, Ethics and Administrative Law division. She continued “Patrick has been working in his current capacity here at DCAA for about a month now. In that short time, I have come to trust his judgement and rely on his advice regarding a wide range of subjects.” She then thanked Mr. Hodges family for their support throughout his career.
In his remarks, Mr. Hodges recounted how he began his career as an enlisted clerk and never dreamed he would reach this level. The then went on to thank the many individuals in the audience who were from prior positions who had encouraged and challenged him to become an SES. He then thanked them for their belief in his abilities to be successful at this level.
