Fort Belvoir, Va. –
The William B. Petty Award was awarded to Mr. Scott Hahn, Deputy Director Policy Directorate, during a ceremony on June 7, 2023, in recognition of his dedication and selfless service to DCAA and the Federal government.
Scott has over 38 years of Federal service and during that time he has proven himself to be a leader who makes a positive impact in every position. When Scott was a Regional Audit Manager in Eastern Region, his offices had some of the highest ratings in the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey due to his efforts to create an inclusive and collaborative environment.
Mr. Hahn has spent the last several years in the Quality Directorate, where he has been the heartbeat of Quality. Though four separate executive leaders, Scott was the constant and calming influence in the directorate. Scott has seen two separate external peer reviews and assisted the peer teams in their review, ensuring all offices were responsive to the peer team. He also worked with DCAA’s first external peer review by a non-DoD entity, effectively communicating and translating DoD language into that which the peer auditors could understand. Thanks to his efforts, DCAA passed with a clean opinion.
Scott constantly looks to improve processes, products and services that benefit DCAA, the Department of Defense, as well as customers and stakeholders. He is an exceptional leader who has distinguished himself in all positions. Congratulations to Mr. Hahn, DCAA’s 2023 recipient of the William B. Petty Special Achievement Award for Management Excellence.
