Fort Belvoir, Va. –
Supervisory Auditor Joshua (Josh) Monthie was recently awarded the Corporate Audit Directorate (CAD) Director’s coin for his outstanding contributions to the audit team. His critical thinking and proactive approach to work helped identify $42 million in questioned costs. After the buying command’s review, Josh’s findings were sustained, saving the government $42 million. Josh’s work had a ripple effect, leading to similar findings in subsequent audits, including $97 million in questioned costs for another audit, with $6.4 million already sustained before the audit report was issued. Joshua shares,
“I am a firm believer in supporting the Warfighter and protecting the taxpayer. Across my nearly 15-year career with DCAA, I have looked at every task through the lens of, ‘As a taxpayer, am I okay with the Government paying that much for the procured product or service; and how can I, as a civilian, make sure the troops get what they need in a timely manner?’”
