DCAA passes external peer review

By DCAA Staff Writer

DCAA recently passed the external peer review for Oct. 1, 2023, through Sept. 30,2024 with no letter of comment. The external peer review team determined DCAA met the Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) independence standards, staff competency requirements, Continuing Professional Education (CPE) requirements, and GAGAS quality control and peer review standards. The evaluation includes staff surveys, interviews, assignment reviews, inspections, and evaluations for audits and reports. The review confirmed DCAA’s workforce has effective quality control communications and a thorough understanding of the importance of having, following, and managing an effective quality control system. Additionally, the review identified DCAA’s robust internal inspection process and identified no exemptions or exceptions found in terminated audits, audits, or reissued reports. Audit organizations can receive ratings of pass, pass with deficiencies, or fail. DCAA’s pass rating without a letter of comment reflects the Agency’s commitment to quality and compliance.
