Remembering September 11, 2001

By DCAA Staff Writer

Today marks the 24th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, 9/11, a day that forever changed our nation. Each year since 9/11 marks another generation of people who will grow up after the horrifying event, further distancing 9/11 from the present. While time marches on, DCAA remains steadfast in ensuring the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pa. are never forgotten. We honor and remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost and the courageous first responders, service members, and everyday Americans who answered the call to serve in the face of unimaginable tragedy around the United States, exemplifying the unshakeable American spirit.

For DCAA, as part of the Department of Defense, 9/11 is a solemn reminder of our critical mission to protect and defend the United States of America. In the days and years that followed, countless men and women in uniform made extraordinary sacrifices to safeguard our freedom. DCAA continues to support these brave service members by ensuring the DoD receives fair and reasonable contract prices, maximizing spending capabilities so the Warfighter is always ready.

Together, we echo the words of previous years to keep the memory of 9/11 alive and in our hearts. As we move forward, unified and guided by the sacrifices of those who came before us, we remain committed to protecting the future and honoring the legacy of resilience and service that defines our nation.
