Mr. Patrick Coen, formerly Supervisory Auditor at the General Dynamics Resident Office, supervised a diverse portfolio of audits leading to success for his office and other offices in the General Dynamics/Raytheon Technologies (GDRT) Corporate Audit Directorate. He also led efforts to improve relationships with customers and was integral to the professional growth of the office staff.
Pat inspired teamwork and was instrumental to the success of a Material Management and Accounting System (MMAS) audit. His vision in developing and leveraging key relationships with contractor and customer personnel ensured the delivery of a product that exceeded the customer’s expectations. As a testimony to Pat’s outstanding leadership abilities, he took an audit team with no practical MMAS experience and produced the audit report ahead of schedule with a 40 percent reduction in time needed to complete the audit.
Pat regularly introduced change-of-pace initiatives at the office boosting morale. For example, his office fitness challenge focuses on increased fitness, mental wellbeing and lighted the mood of the office. He focused on developing his team sending members to the Defense Civilian Emerging Leader Program to further develop their skills. Pat was also heavily involved in coaching and mentoring not only his staff but those from other offices.
Pat is an exceptional, active contributor and leader in his office who exhibits a level of excellence that should be celebrated. Pat is now a Technical Specialist for the GDRT Corporate Audit Directorate.
