Mr. David Hoffman received the Grechanik-Collins Award, DCAA’s highest award for non-audit personnel, in recognition of his tremendous impacts to the agency. Mr. Hoffman is the DCAA Deputy General Counsel and has almost 40 years of legal experience with the United States Army and other Federal agencies.
Mr. Hoffman joined DCAA in 2005 and quickly identified ways to improve the agency’s legal services. In 2007, Mr. Hoffman led the evolution of the Office of General Counsel to a full-service defense agency legal practice from its original small support team. In addition to formalizing the Office of General Counsel, he established the litigation team that influences DoD positions and litigation strategies, reflecting DCAA’s mission priorities and values.
Mr. Hoffman’s work ethic and expertise shines through the results of his work. Throughout his career, he consistently supported and advocated for collaboration in the best interests of the agency and those around him. Every case, Mr. Hoffman went the extra mile and made sure auditors and directors were prepared for hearings, presenting evidence, and able to defend the DoD’s claims. He seized partnership opportunities and always took extra time to make sure a case was ready to litigate.
Mr. David Hoffman’s contributions to DCAA’s mission and the DoD Acquisition Community extends beyond any individual case or dispute. His leadership and professional qualities are evident throughout his tenure. His embodiment of distinguished service makes him a deserving recipient of this award.
