DCAA auditors spark strengthened partnership with the Defense Contract Management Agency

Auditors from DCAA’s Atlanta Branch Office supported the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) during meetings related to an adverse opinion case. DCAA auditors issued an adverse Estimating System Deficiency Report, addressing major weaknesses in a Cost Estimating System. Supervisory and senior auditors met DCMA Contracting Officers in person to clarify audit findings, address challenges around potential system disapproval, and to strengthen collaboration between DCAA and DCMA. DCAA auditors exemplified expertise and consideration for the contractor and DCMA timelines. DCMA expressed appreciation and value from the meeting and requested ongoing support from DCAA Atlanta Branch Office auditors for follow-up action.
