DCAA is Hiring Auditors

By DCAA Staff Writer

DCAA is always accepting applications for entry-level auditors and with 228 DCAA office locations in 41 states, you are sure to find somewhere to call home. We advertise our open positions in many locations; USAJOBS, LinkedIn, Handshake, Facebook, and DCAA’s career website.  We welcome you visit our Careers page – it provides tools and support to ensure your application package is a success. Once you are ready to apply, these additional reminders will help you navigate the application process:

Three Keys to a Successful Application

  • Read the Job Announcement carefully. It’s your “roadmap” for applying to the position, describing in detail the qualifications you need.  While education is often the key qualifier for our entry-level positions – if do you have experience, it’s best to associate your experience on your resume as it applies to the auditor duties noted.
  • Create an in-depth resume tailored to the specific job announcement. Forget any advice to keep your resume short. The more relevant details, specific examples, and information you can provide about your qualifications for the position, the better. You can use the USAJOBS resume builder as a guide, and follow the instructions to create your federal resume.
  • Set aside ample time to complete the USA Hire Assessment. This is a mandatory part of your application, and your score stays with you for a year. If you don’t achieve DCAA’s minimum passing score, you can’t be considered for any DCAA 511 auditor series positions for a year.  You will be emailed an invitation to complete the USA Hire Assessment after you have submitted your application package so be on the lookout for an email from assessments@USAHire.opm.gov. Check out our blog for information on the assessment.

The federal hiring process is known to be slow but DCAA prides itself on constant communication throughout the hiring process. From the day you submit your application to when you are offered a position could be 6-8 weeks, however, you can see the status of your application in your USAJobs account. Once you have passed the initial qualification screening via USA Jobs, DCAA Human Resources personnel will communicate frequently during the interview/selection process.
