Wiesbaden, Germany –
DCAA’s Director visited the European Branch Office, located in Wiesbaden, Germany to learn about the office’s mission and visit with the staff. Approximately 25 personnel are assigned to the office and perform audits of defense contractors in European and Middle Eastern countries. During her visit, Director Dilly held a town hall meeting and thanked the staff for their hard work and dedication to the Agency mission.
The office staff gave an overview of the office highlighting the uniqueness of the mission and the challenges associated with auditing foreign contractors. With suboffices in Saudi Arabia and Israel, the staff faces language and cultural challenges daily. The auditors quickly become creative problem solvers and learn to work through language barriers to complete audits their audits in a timely manner. Living and working overseas can be difficult but the staff all work together and provide support with both work and adjusting to living in Germany. “We are a close-knit group,” said Kevin King, “and the office has a real culture of cohesion and camaraderie.”
During her visit, Director Dilly presented a director’s coin to Philip Dennis in recognition of his excellent work. Phillip completed three audits on contracts in support of Ukraine in a very short amount of time. His commitment to DCAA’s mission set a noteworthy standard of excellence for customer service.
