Fort Belvoir, Va. –
The Rapid Operations Branch Office (ROBO), Wichita Suboffice, recently identified over $40 million in questioned and unsupported costs on a firm-fixed-price proposal, earning praise from both the contract requestor and the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA). During the audit, the ROBO team uncovered non-existent parts, duplicated material and unreasonable proposed prices. As a result of these findings, the ROBO team helped determine compliance with the Federal Audit Regulations (FAR).
ROBO auditors Kyndall Hutson, Andrew Coiner, Jose Vento and Chris Richard played a critical role in the audit’s success. The team showed exceptional collaboration across departments, states and time zones. Beyond the audit report, the team continues participating in daily negotiations. Andrew contributes the team’s passion, dedication, selflessness and pride to their success issuing an audit report with such significant and relative findings on time. He stressed that this work directly contributed to protecting taxpayer dollars, supporting the warfighter and providing accurate financial oversight.
The team’s high-quality work attracted positive attention from the customer's contracting officer and DCMA. Not only did they recognize Kyndall's outstanding support during the process and after the report, but they also recognized the team's continued quality support on this program since 2018. In a letter of appreciation, DCMA commended the entire team, “I sincerely Appreciate Andrew Coiner and his team’s invaluable support to DCMA.” The contracting officer also highlighted how the team’s continuous dedication playing an instrumental role in the report process.
Kyndall echoed Andrew’s sentiments and highlighted the team’s strengths, “My team’s communication and coordination are what made us successful. There were numerous unplanned external obstacles that came about during the audit, but my team stayed upbeat through it all. This success would not have been possible without such a supportive and cohesive group.”
