Southbridge, Mass. –
Nine DCAA employees received their diplomas from the Defense Civilian Emerging Leadership Program (DCELP) during a ceremony held on June 14, 2019. DCELP is the DoD leader development program for GS 7-12 employees. The program is comprised of a series of four 1-week in-resident seminars, assessment tools, knowledge transfer activities, participant writing and briefing projects, and individual coaching. The program concentrates on the learning objectives of know self, express self, build teams, and lead people.
The graduates felt the program was a great personal and leadership development opportunity because it dedicated time to apply techniques learned. It also was an opportunity to focus on how people interact and some of the causes of conflict. During the in-residence portion, all participants contributed to the experience and offered different perspectives. Overall, it was a great forum to discuss and share best practices on a wide range of topics.
