2023 Award Winners in Administrative Support and Administrative Technical Fields

DCAA recently announced the winners of annual awards in the professional support staff and administrative technical categories. The Administrative/Technical Employee of the Year Award is presented to someone whose made significant contributions that follow certain criteria for each category. Many awardees accomplish major contributions to DCAA’s mission, exemplify DCAA values, and demonstrate outstanding expertise in their field.

Joyce McKenna Presented Prestigious William B. Petty Award

Ms. Joyce McKenna is the Deputy Director of the GD-RTX Corporate Audit Directorate (CAD) office. As a result of Ms. McKenna’s outstanding work, she is this year’s recipient of the William B. Petty Special Achievement Award for Management Excellence.

David Hoffman Receives Prestigious Grechanik-Collins Award

Mr. David Hoffman received the Grechanik-Collins Award, DCAA’s highest award for non-audit personnel, in recognition of his tremendous impacts to the agency. Mr. Hoffman is the DCAA Deputy General Counsel and has almost 40 years of legal experience with the United States Army and other Federal agencies.

Kathy Fastenau: Recipient of the United States Attorney’s Office Award

Kathy Fastenau is a Senior Auditor with the Operations Investigative Support Division (OIS). The United States Attorney’s Office-Central District of California (USAO) selected Kathy as a recipient of the 20th Annual Law Enforcement Award for her outstanding work in support of the USAO’s prosecutions and litigation.

Mr. Stanley (Stan) Jones is a senior level auditor in a field detachment office who enjoys music, quilting, card-making, and more. Stan’s early exposure to the arts was inspired by his mother, a retired bone-marrow transplant nurse. Continuing his mother’s legacy, Stan actively contributes to his community by volunteering to teach after-school care for high-risk, low-income families in his local community.

E.J. Rupert is an aspiring animated series writer who won first-place in the Creative Writing-Short Script category of the 2023 National Veterans Creative Arts Competition for his script, “Back to Fool.” E.J. will return to the National Veterans Creative Arts Competition in May of 2024 in Denver, Co. E.J. is also a part-time DJ, sings and plays the drums.

David Johnson Awarded as FY2023 Presidential Meritorious Executive Recipient

DCAA’s Central Regional Director, Mr. David Johnson, was announced as a Presidential Meritorious Executive award recipient under the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of the Secretary of Defense for the 2023 fiscal year (FY). This award recognizes distinguished and sustained accomplishments to an exclusive number of the Senior Executive Service (SES) for the fiscal year.
