Fort Belvoir, Va. –
On November 5, 2020, Senior Auditor Bradley Berry was virtually presented with a letter of appreciation and coin from Defense Contract Management Agency-Detroit (DCMA) for outstanding audit support. The great working relationship established between Mr. Berry and the DCMA Command was evident in the letter of appreciation. The letter emphasized Mr. Berry’s professionalism, proactive support, and sound advice which proved invaluable during the establishment of the government’s negotiated rates position with the contractor. The DCMA Commander specifically expressed the following in the letter:
“DCMA relies heavily on DCAA’s expert advice to identify areas of concern during the development of negotiation discussion points with our contractors. In this case, the resulting negotiated rates were immediately used to directly support THOR III [counter-radio-controlled improvised explosive device jammer] and M-88 [armored recovery vehicle], both high profile Army Programs. Your recommendations prompted considerable discussion that benefitted all parties, enabling the Government to be better positioned to understand and address negotiation objectives. Establishing a seven-year Forward Pricing Rate Agreement for all direct and indirect rates was crucial to ensuring standardized, accurate, and fair pricing across all DoD buying commands….. Please accept my deepest appreciation for a job well done!”
