Fort Belvoir, Va. –
Participants from the DCAA and the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) met in Irving, Texas for a week long session focused on process mapping. Participants included members of DCAA’s Policy, Operations, Central Region, and Information Technology divisions and members of DCMA’s Contracts/Pricing, Policy, and Processes Division.
Ms. Kimberly Moore, DCAA’s Director of the Strategic Initiatives Group, facilitated an in-person business process review of the functions of DCAA and DCMA. During the session, the participants discussed both organizations’ processes related to price proposals, internal terminology, and a monitoring process. Through these discussions, areas of potential overlap were identified. The meeting resulted in process maps for price proposals displaying each agency’s role, “touch point” areas between each agency, and a monitoring plan.
This session was collaborative and very helpful in understanding each agencies’ price proposal process. Both agencies plan to collaborate in future mapping projects for other types of proposals and audits. This session was an example of how synergy between DCAA and DCMA can improve both agencies’ ability to support the warfighter.
