Ms. Kimberly Litherland, Director Human Capital, is this year’s winner of the Grechanik-Collins Award, DCAA’s highest award for non-audit personnel.
Ms. Litherland is recognized for her leadership and tireless efforts in the area of recruitment. She recognized the Agency’s recruiting process and methods needed to evolve and adapt to the changing landscape of a multigenerational, technically savvy workforce. She spearheaded a branding project that encompassed specific, long term goals including a refresh of the careers pages on the public website, the production of videos, and modern collateral materials that clearly identify DCAA as a premier employer of choice for auditors and support personnel.
Ms. Litherland was also a member of the Agency’s COVID-19 pandemic crisis action team. Many of the workplace flexibilities instituted to keep the workforce safe were in her area of human resources. Her team issued guidance to the workforce and answered a multitude of questions from employees. Finally, she continued to lead her Human Capital division as they performed their normal duties to ensure new employees are brought on board and current employee needs are met.
Her tenure at DCAA has been exceptional and noteworthy for her leadership, reform-minded approaches, and employment of best practices. Her devotion to duty and commitment to DCAA’s audit mission are at the forefront of what she does and makes her a deserving recipient of this award.
